Grădina Copou

The oldest landscaped public park in Romania, begun in 1833–1834. It holds Eminescu's linden tree — probably the most visited tree in the country — and the Obelisk with Lions, one of the oldest Romanian public monuments. It is the emblematic park of Iași: small compared with the nearby Botanical Garden, but dense with literary reference, in a city that built its identity on literature.
