Iași International Airport
Iași's own international airport, 8 km east of the centre — the fastest way into Moldavia without the drive from Bucharest. Here's how to get to and from the city, what the terminal offers, and live departures and arrivals.
Getting to and from the airport
The airport sits about 8 km east of the centre — one of the shortest city-to-airport hops in Romania.
Bus 50 / 50b
Aeroport – Moara de Vânt – Târgu Cucu – Piața Unirii – Gara, every 30 minutes. About 20 minutes to the centre, 25 to the railway station. A CTP ticket costs 4 lei and is valid 120 minutes.
Taxi
Ranks right outside the terminal. It is only 8 km to the centre, so the ride is short.
Ride-hailing
Bolt and Uber operate in Iași; ordering in the app avoids negotiating at the door.
Private transfer
Fixed-price car booked in advance — easiest with luggage or on late arrivals.
Car rental
Desks at the terminal. Worth it if you plan day trips to the monasteries or up into Bucovina.
Facilities
- A single passenger terminal — departures and arrivals under one roof
- Cafés, a shop and currency exchange in the public area
- ATMs and car-rental desks
- Step-free access and assistance on request
- Short-stay drop-off plus a paid car park
Tips
- For Schengen flights arrive about 1.5–2 hours early; non-Schengen 2–3 hours.
- Bus 50 is the cheapest way into town and runs every half hour.
- The terminal is compact — there is less to do airside than at a large hub, so eat before security.
