Cookie policy

Cookies and similar technologies

Which cookies we use, why, and how to change your choice at any time.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. They enable simple things — remembering that you chose English, or that you dismissed the consent banner — and more complex ones, such as measuring traffic or serving relevant ads.

Alongside cookies we also use equivalent technologies such as the browser's local storage. This policy treats them the same way.

Your consent

On your first visit we show a banner with two clear options: accept all cookies, or keep only the essential ones. Until you press “Accept”, analytics and advertising cookies stay switched off — they are not loaded and collect nothing.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser under the key mb-cookie-consent. We do not transmit it anywhere.

The categories we use

We group cookies into three categories, two of which depend strictly on your agreement:

  • **Strictly necessary** — these make the site work: they remember your language and your cookie decision. They cannot be switched off, because the site would not work correctly without them.
  • **Analytics** — these show us, in aggregate, which pages are read and where visitors come from, so we know what content is worth developing. They activate only after you accept.
  • **Advertising and marketing** — these allow ads to be shown and their effectiveness measured. They activate only after you accept.

Third-party services we use

The site is funded by advertising and affiliate commissions, so certain external services may set their own cookies:

  • **Google Analytics 4** — aggregate traffic statistics. We run it in Consent Mode v2: until you accept, analytics and ad storage are set to “denied”.
  • **Google AdSense** — ad serving. May use cookies to cap ad repetition and for measurement.
  • **Meta Pixel (Facebook)** — helps us measure campaign results and reach the right audience. It loads only after you press “Accept”.
  • **Stay22** — the accommodation map embedded on our stay and neighbourhood pages.
  • **GetYourGuide** — the tours and activities widget.
  • **Supabase and Hostinger** — the infrastructure running our database and the site itself.

How to withdraw your consent

You can change your mind at any time. The simplest way is to clear this site's data in your browser (history → cookies and site data) — the banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.

Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies across all sites. Note that blocking them entirely may affect how some pages work.

For details about personal data and your rights, see our privacy policy.
