Casa Dosoftei

One of the oldest surviving civil buildings in Iași, today housing a museum of old Romanian literature. It carries the name of Dosoftei, Metropolitan of Moldavia, translator and printer — a central figure in the process by which the Romanian language entered writing and print, at a time when Church Slavonic was still the language of chancery and church. The exact location is on the map on this page; public transport gets you there from the centre in a few stops, and a CTP ticket costs 4 lei, valid 120 minutes.
