Rezervaţia Repedea

A palaeontological reserve on Repedea hill, south-east of Iași and within the city limits. The outcrops contain marine fossils — evidence of a sea that covered the area in the Miocene. It is a genuine geological site rather than a tourist installation, and one of the few chances to step outside the urban register without leaving the city. Repedea is also one of the seven hills of Iași. The exact location is on the map on this page; public transport gets you there from the centre in a few stops, and a CTP ticket costs 4 lei, valid 120 minutes.
